TRAZAR'S RELIABILITY

Over the past 17 years, Trazar 's AIM Network reliability has become legendary within the semiconductor plasma equipment industry. Trazar is the industry leader with its demonstrated Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) rate well above 40 months. (Trazar has received AIM Networks, returned for service and updating, after operating continuously for 8 years w/o a failure!) Trazar's customers have reported that many of the AIM Network competitors have difficulty in maintaining MTBF's above 12 months and many are as low as 3 to 6 months.

SEMICONDUCTOR INDUSTRY AGREES

The SIA** reports that the average cost in "loss of productivity" for a 200mm fab being down for maintenance for one, 8 hour shift is a $1.2 to $1.5Mil. It is estimated that it takes an average of 4 hours to remove an AIM Network unit, replace it with a spare and bring a production unit back on-line. That is a potential $600K to $750K loss. Trazar understands this as the reason that reliability is so critical in this process area. Trazar also knows that this issue has become even more important for the future, as this cost increases dramatically with the current manufacturers moving to the larger 300mm fabs.

Trazar's focus in all three of its divisions takes these reliability issues very seriously in all phases of design, development and manufacturing.
