Trazar Introduces Contract Manufacturing Services at SEMICON West

Integrated Outsourcing of Complex Electro-Mechanical and Hydraulic/Pneumatic Subassemblies Reduces Manufacturing Costs, Improves Time to Market

Santa Clara, Calif. --- July 16, 2001 --- Trazar Corp., designer and manufacturer of Automatic Impedance Matching (AIM) networks and RF power equipment, today will introduce its Specialty Contract Manufacturing (SCM) services in Booth 4344 at SEMICON West 2001, San Francisco, Calif. Trazar’s new SCM Division offers a reliable source for the integrated engineering, production and materials management needed to produce complex electro-mechanical and hydraulic/pneumatic subassemblies.

“Industry studies have found that outsourcing a mere 20 percent of the tasks required to produce custom or complex subassemblies can result in an 80 percent reduction in overall workload,” said John Perry, Trazar manager of technical sales. “In addition reducing the design, engineering and production time, outsourcing to Trazar SCM can reduce the time manufacturers spend on vendor quality issues, reduce the resources used to expedite products and procure parts, and reduce the space required to store inventory and produce equipment.”

Trazar SCM offers engineering and production of complex electro-mechanical and hydraulic/pneumatic subassemblies, fixed and automatic impedance matching networks, RF switching and filtering boxes, precision compressed air and mechanical lift devices, vacuum relay devices, and more. As part of its integrated services, Trazar SCM also offers materials management, quality control and test.

The company has won numerous awards for manufacturing improvements to its electrostatic chuck controllers and custom pedestal lifts supplied by the SCM Division, as well as quality awards for its AIM product line from semiconductor manufacturer Novellus.

Gary Ater, Trazar VP of sales and marketing, adds, “Outsourcing the production of complex subassemblies is a strategic move that semiconductor manufacturers can use to achieve a competitive advantage in challenging market.”

Trazar Corporation was founded in 1987 to develop custom automatic impedance matching networks for research and development projects in the semiconductor and medical industries.
