Trazar Launches Assured Quality Product
(AQP) Program for Out-of-Warranty Automatic Impedance Match (AIM)

AIMs Restored to “Like-New” Condition for Half the
Cost of New Units, AQP Program Reduces Total-Cost-of-Ownership,
Improves Reliability
Santa Clara, Calif. --- June 30, 2001 --- Trazar Corp., designer
and manufacturer of Automatic Impedance Match (AIM) networks and
RF power generation products, has launched a new Assured Quality
Product (AQP) Program for out-of-warranty AIMs. As part of the
AQP Program, Trazar will upgrade an AIM to the latest revision
level and replace any electronic/mechanical component or sheet
metal parts that have failed, or show any signs of a potential
failure, including any scratched or bent sheet-metal housings,
brackets, etc. The AIM is then run through the same inspection,
burn-in and final test processes as are new AIMs, and is warrantied
for an additional 18 months.
“For customers, an AQP-labeled AIM is like getting a brand
new unit at half the cost, plus an additional 18-month warranty,” said
Gary Ater, Trazar’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Instead
of replacing one or two components, we can improve the reliability
of the product and reduce the customer’s total cost of ownership.”
Ater added that AIMs are essential components in the semiconductor
manufacturing process. “With the average cost of downtime
in a semiconductor fab estimated at $1.2 million per shift, it’s
easy to see why reliability is so important,” he said.
In addition to reducing costs and improving production efficiency
for the customer, the AQP program also benefits Trazar. With a
single, up-to-date version of its AIM in the field, the company
can phase out old models and reduce its inventory of replacement
parts.
The AQP program is part of Trazar’s commitment to quality,
which has resulted in the highest field reliability rate of any
AIM manufacturer and has earned the company numerous quality awards
from its customers. With a 13.56 MHz frequency and power range
of 25W to 10kW, Trazar's AIMs are designed to be integrated into
custom network configurations that meet the exact specifications
of major semiconductor customers, including Novellus, Mattson Technology,
and others.
