Trazar Launches Specialty Contract
Manufacturing (SCM) Division
Acquisition of Regen Solutions’ SCM Business Enables Trazar
to Offer SCM Services to Semiconductor, Telecommunications, Medical
Device Manufacturers
Santa Clara, Calif.--- May 21, 2001 --- Trazar Corp., designer
and manufacturer of RF power generation and automatic impedance
match (AIM) networks, has announced the launch of a Specialty Contract
Manufacturing (SCM) Division. The new SCM Division will offer Original
Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) a reliable source for integrated
manufacturing, engineering and materials management services. These
services are designed to facilitate an OEM’s production of
complex electro-mechanical and hydraulic/pneumatic subassemblies.
Previously, Trazar offered outsourcing services to the semiconductor
industry on a limited basis through a partnership with Regen Solutions,
Inc., a privately-owned contract manufacturer of custom subassemblies
based in Santa Clara, Calif. With the acquisition of Regen’s
SCM business, Trazar can now offer outsourcing and contract manufacturing
solutions to a broader range of customers, including OEMs in the
medical device, telecommunications, aerospace and robotics industries.
“Combining Trazar’s expertise in RF power engineering,
production and test with Regen’s precision manufacturing
and mechanical capabilities enables us to offer OEMs a specialized
contract manufacturing service that could save them thousands of
dollars in production and materials costs,” said Ken Warburton,
CEO of Trazar.
According to Warburton, Regen’s dedication to quality was
an important factor in the purchase decision. Both companies have
received quality awards from Novellus --- Trazar for the production
of AIM systems and Regen for service-level improvements in the
manufacture of electrostatic chuck controllers and custom pedestal
lifts.
“The electronic manufacturing services industry is now over
$44 billion,” Warburton said. “The incorporation of
Regen’s personnel, inventory and specialized manufacturing
equipment into Trazar’s new SCM Division strengthens our
competitive position in this fast-growing market."
